First Day Of School

A collared shirt is a must for the first day of school. And seeing that every boy in Miles' class had one on made me feel better about my wardrobe choice

Giving me the thumbs up as he was shoving food in his mouth

Today was Miles' first day of school. Yesterday I cried at least 10 times thinking about how grown up he was getting and how I was going to have to let go a little bit. Even though I am ready for him to have some time away from me to learn and grow, it is never easy to let go. Even if it is only from 9-12 3 days a week.
Anyway, Miles did great! I was really nervous that he was going to have a hard goodbye but as soon as he started playing in the sand area he told me "I won't cry. You can go if I can look for wet sand." So off Mae and I went....slowly.
Miles didn't tell me much about his day other than that he didn't pee at school and he didn't have to wash his hands before snack (I have a feeling that might not be true...let's hope). He told me that they read a story about school and played with blocks. He was full of energy when he got home and has been sleeping hard for almost 2 hours. It seems like a great first day!

14 months

All of a sudden it seems like Mae is much less of a baby and more of a kid

Here are 14 facts about Mae
1. She now sleeps through the night from about 7:30 to 6:30
2. Mae's favorite thing to eat/drink are smoothies
3. Mae hates eggs and cottage cheese. Hates.
4. Mae calls herself "Me" and Miles "My"
5. Mae can now say banana, fish, kiss, happy birthday, bubble, snack, milk, shoe, bear, frog, baseball, beach ball, no no no (she says this as she does things she is not allowed to do), up, walk and some other words that I can't think of.
6. Mae loves to put on shoes
7. She can take about 5 steps before falling..hard
8. Mae still loves to climb anything she can get to
9. Mae still nurses a ton during the day. She now climbs on my lap and yells "mil" as she shoves her hand down my shirt. Double sigh. I need to make some changes asap
10.When I nurse Mae before bed she claps if she likes the song I am singing and shakes her head no if she does not. She does this while she is nursing!
11. Mae loves to kiss everything. Dolls, cars, pictures in books, the list goes on and on
12. Mae loves to "play" with all of Miles' toys. She watches his every move and imitates what he is doing as soon as he walks away
13. Mae tries to pick up and eat the photos of food in her word books
14. Mae calls all animal "dogs" and all people "babies"

Mae makes me laugh every day. She lights up the room when she crawls/walk-falls in it. She has so much love to give and we could not love her more.
