First Day Of School

A collared shirt is a must for the first day of school. And seeing that every boy in Miles' class had one on made me feel better about my wardrobe choice

Giving me the thumbs up as he was shoving food in his mouth

Today was Miles' first day of school. Yesterday I cried at least 10 times thinking about how grown up he was getting and how I was going to have to let go a little bit. Even though I am ready for him to have some time away from me to learn and grow, it is never easy to let go. Even if it is only from 9-12 3 days a week.
Anyway, Miles did great! I was really nervous that he was going to have a hard goodbye but as soon as he started playing in the sand area he told me "I won't cry. You can go if I can look for wet sand." So off Mae and I went....slowly.
Miles didn't tell me much about his day other than that he didn't pee at school and he didn't have to wash his hands before snack (I have a feeling that might not be true...let's hope). He told me that they read a story about school and played with blocks. He was full of energy when he got home and has been sleeping hard for almost 2 hours. It seems like a great first day!

Great beginning for preschool and school for our Miles! I'm amazed at how grown up he looks!

It is such a wonderful time but also such a poignant moment too for you. Just savor each time and know you will have many such moments!

I'm reminded of Eric who never used the bathroom at school until he was nearly grown! For years the first thing he would do when he came home was head straight for the bathroom!

I must be a bad mom because I jumped for joy the first time I dropped James off at school and have continued to do so at every drop-off since. Ha! He looks so cute and grown up, I love his outfit :-)
